Volunteer firefighters are an amazing group of selfless people. Often overlooked, they are pillars in our community for helping us in our moments of need. The Harris Hill Volunteer Fire Company alone, answers over 650 calls per year.
For the fifth consecutive year, Harris Hill Volunteer Fire Company (8630 Main Street) is participating in the statewide “RecruitNY” weekend. On Saturday, April 25, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the company will host an “open house” for people who may be thinking about becoming a volunteer firefighter, or may want to learn more. There will be tours of the fire station, review of the gear, and even where people can try on the equipment. For the community, there will be informational opportunities throughout the facility.
Check out the video filmed at Harris Hill Volunteer Fire Company’s facility that talks about being a volunteer firefighter and the April 25th event.
