A community gem, the Clarence Summer Concert Series (in it’s 57th year!!!) will be presenting their second performance of the season this Sunday night (July 12) at 7:00 p.m. when Helen Welch and the Clarence Summer Orchestra “Strikes Up the Band!” Performances are held at the band-shell inside Clarence Town Park, 10405 Main Street. All concerts are free.
Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy a summer evening watching performances by professional musicians. In the event of rain, performances are held in the Clarence Middle School on Greiner Road.
Sunday night’s show is the second of seven performances this summer, with their season ending on Sunday, August 2. Some highlights include a visit by the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra on Wednesday, July 15th, Dancing Around the World on Sunday, July 26th, and the season-ending performance by the American Legion Band of the Tonawandas on Sunday, August 2.
The series is produced by the Clarence Concert Association. The organization raises the money through generous donations and grant monies, which is why the concerts remain free. Hats off to the association for their hard work in making the series possible.
