It was a fun and festive Saturday afternoon for the Main Street Clarence Spring Bicycle Pub Crawl. Riders departed Brennan’s Bowery Bar at 2:00 p.m. and then return there later for the post-event party and bike giveaway. There was a nice turnout of bicyclists, shuttle riders and business owners who explored eight locations up and down Main Street. Riders made visits to: Brennan’s, Nashvilles, Penny Lane Cafe, Gianni Mazias, Clarence Hollow Bistro, The Cornerstone Pub & Grill, The Clarence Grille, and Murphy Brown’s.

Congrats to Karen Bunker from Tonawanda who won a beautiful Schwinn Discover bicycle. Karen and her husband Dan both rode in the Crawl. Riders got passports stamped at each location, which made them eligible to win the bike at the post-ride party.
It was also seeing the support of the pub and restaurant owners at each location greeting guests. Brennan’s owner Dave Shatzel rode the entire bike ride. Penny Lane Cafe’s Anne Valby visited several locations including making an appearance at the post-event. It’s this type of involvement that helps foster a sense of community and support in making Main Street in Clarence a place to dine, eat, visit, shop and find recreation.
The event was supported by Discover Main Street committee, Clarence Chamber of Commerce and Clarence Hollow Association.
CORRECTIONS AND AMPLIFICATONS: The husband of Karen Bunker, winner of our bike giveaway, is Dan Bunker. An earlier version of this story erroneously identified him as Don Bunker.
