This no secret that the Clarence Hollow Farmers’ Market is one of our favorite summertime Main Street Stops.
The team at the Farmers’ Market packs in a full summer schedule of special events. This Saturday August 27th will be no exception as Eastern Monarch Butterfly Farms hosts their annual butterfly release at 11am. The event has become something of a tradition and is always well-attended by kids of all ages.
The monarch butterfly or simply monarch is a milkweed butterfly in the family Nymphalidae. The iconic monarch may be the most familiar North American butterfly, and is easily recognizable by its black, orange, and white pattern. Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind event, and take some time to learn more about the monarch from the folks at Eastern Monarch Butterfly Farms.
While you do, remember that this annual release is always well-attended, so get their early. The Farmers’ Market will open at 8am and also offers the freshest vegetables, produce and baked goods. Plan on having your breakfast at the market too – you’ll find coffee, hot breakfast wraps and other ready-to-eat items at the Market, and entertainment will be provided by The Field Hands.
