Main Street Music Calendar For September 6-12th

Here it is already – another Tuesday weekly music column.

With such a beautiful Labor day weekend behind us, it will  the time to consider light sweaters and indoor nights that are coming our way. This can be such a majestic time of year as the apples are ripening, the leaves will be turning, the beers are darker, and everyone gets to order their favorite flavors from Goodrich Coffee’s wonderful assortment of hot beverages!

It seems that our Main Street Clarence music has become a little richer as well.

With the turning of the season, Penny Lane Café is winding up their Tuesday original music nights. For the fall, they’re seeking to replace it with a house band interested in hosting a karaoke night. If anyone is interested please contact the Café at 716-320-5872.

The word has been spreading about the Tuesday Blues-Day experience at Murphy Brown’s Craft Beer Empourium. Each week a new featured guest sits in with yours truly, AJ Tetzlaff, also known as AppleJack Blues. Having featured the well-known Shawn Duchscherer and rising talent Mark Woodworth on bass, the place was really rocking last Tuesday night. Stop by and see who my special guest will be tonight.

Further up the road we can stop at Nashvilles II for some genuine Georgia born country music. Nation recording artist, and five time chart topping, Craig Campbell has booked his Friday night with us! There is much debate about the modern day country sound and its distant relation to its roots in the genre. Craig Campbell has that pure country voice, and early 90’s honky-tonk tone infused with modern day style. “There ain’t nothin’ like a steel guitar”, and hits like “Outskirts of Heaven” or “Fish” really drive home that honky-tonk feel. Be sure to head up to Nashvilles II Friday night and slap some leather on a sawdust floor to show our guest how Music on Main Street Clarence can shimmie, shake, and make the earth quake!

Finally, we told you last week about the Hollow Bistro & Brew’s Jazz Brunch. Saturday, September 10th 11:30 am they’re featuring Musicians Jim Bohm and David Calire.
