Since 2010, American Express has helped promote  #ShopSmall festivities through Small Business Saturday®. This year’s event falls on November 26th. Now in its 7th year, Small Business Saturday has grown substantially every year. If you’re a small business owner, #ShopSmall should be a part of your holiday plan.

Let’s face it: Main Street in Clarence is different than the Elmwood Village, or East Aurora, or Delaware Avenue in Kenmore. Even as the New Main Street Clarence continues to rise, it’s not going to be any of those places, and isn’t trying to be. Just being a small business on Main Street isn’t enough for the world to beat a path to your door. Not yet.

Discover Main Street is here for you, and ready to help you leverage the buzz.

Last month, Discover Main Street began it’s third year telling the story of all the wonderful places Main Street Clarence has to offer, and began documenting the rise of the New Main Street. That effort began with organizing Small Business Saturday on Main Street for the first time in 2014.

Since we’ve started, we’ve been seeing tremendous interest and cooperation from town government, community organizations and the Clarence residents who all played an integral role in our events and businesses. We’ve joined these efforts, and met so many wonderful people who are all helping Main Street to rise in wonderful ways we never could have imagined.

The community as a whole is starting to realize that what we have on Main Street in Clarence is a rambling, eclectic mix of nearly 150 wonderful businesses spread out over 6.5 miles made up of a series of hamlets. The diversity of Main Street’s young, hip offerings and old-school Clarence charm is what makes this commercial district a special place all its own.

Over the next two weeks, Discover Main Street will be showing video clips through our social media of Main Street Clarence Businesses participating with #ShopSmall deals. It’s a great way to learn more about our community and the folks that are a part of it. If you’d like your business to be included, we’ll do it for no charge.
