Shake off the cold this week with local musicians turning up the heat. We have some new faces this week and some returning mainstays in our beloved section of Route 5. Allow us to help you Discover Main Street in Clarence.
Musicians take notice: Penny Lane Cafe has a new host Thursday nights for Open Mic night. His name is Keith Shuskie. Keith’s renditions of modern era music reminds us that behind the over production in contemporary recording there is still a beautifully written composition. With his vocal abilities, and care-taking charm this is perhaps the best open mic available to the area. Local mainstay Mercury Blues Band takes the stage Friday night at Penny Lane for those looking for wailing guitar, and distorted power chords on all of your favorite classics!
Also on Friday, the Hollow Bistro & Brew brings to you another top shelf talent and past featured musician in Shawn Duchscherer. As a member in a band he is a phenom and one of a kind musician, but as a solo act one simply can’t believe their ears. This is some of the best talent in Buffalo, and it’s right here on route 5!
Brennan’s showcases our past featured musician Michael DiSanto joined by Ali Critelli for his masterful acoustic soul and 90’s R&B. Michael’s knowledge of music theory and passion for this industry makes his performances top notch. While he is accompanied by Ali, we suggest not missing this Friday at Brennan’s Bowery Bar.
Our featured musician of the week is Joe Defilippis. Having been the chosen percussionist for trop rock celebrity Bob Schiele on both albums, Joe is as talented as they come with congas, drum kits, and rhythm. As a once gifted bass player, Joe has had music flowing through his able hands for 16 years. Be sure to sit back with a cold craft brew this evening at Murphy Brown’s and enjoy the passion of music emulating between AJ “AppleJack” Tetzlaff and his weekly featured celebrity Joe Defilippis.
