This week marks a very special edition of the Music calendar as our beloved Main Street hosts holiday parties and festive events. As holiday shopping is at the top of everybody’s to-do list, we encourage those to retire their evenings in the comfort of holiday themed local events.
Murphy Brown’s has moved their Bluesday to Thursday of 
this week for a special three-day long Holiday Beer Drive for Veterans. This is truly a one in a kind concept as customers are asked to stop in and simply purchase a beer to be gifted to the brave men and women who served for our country. The list of talent is endless with names like David Miller, Jason Moynihan, Aaron Ziolkowski, Adam Schmidt, and a variety of gifted musicians who will be sitting in with Applejack Blues. The times for the three-day beer drive are listed below.
The Hollow Bistro has also embraced the holiday spirit with their own Toy drive benefitting the Baker Victory Nelson House Emergency Foster Care. Please consider dropping off gifts for a complimentary holiday cocktail and stay awhile to enjoy holiday themed desserts and acoustic live music by AJ Tetzlaff. Ugly sweaters have been encouraged.
Penny Lane Café made the early phone call to the north pole in a request for Santa to come out for their Bad Santa party. We understand the Jolly Chris Cringle is quite the celebrity this time of year. Those in attendance will appreciate The Mercury Blues Band and Dr. Dirty who has comfortably resided on the naughty list since the 70’s. Prizes will be awarded to the nastiest costume, and the owners ask patrons to be ready to dance their faces off! How we love the Valbys.
Our featured musician of the week is Aaron Ziolkowski of the Little Mountain Band. Aaron will be performing as a duo of the Little Mountain Band this Friday at Murphy Brown’s accompanied by Adam Schmidt. His influences in music range from the roll of a bluegrass banjo to the great Jerry Garcia. Aaron’s roots with the Grateful Dead and the blues have brandished a one of a kind musician performing with the conviction of Gary Moore, but creative genius of Garcia. We highly encourage a visit to Murphy Brown’s.
