Saturday November 25th is Small Business Saturday, a day to choose to support our local Main Street merchants with our holiday spending. It all starts with a kickoff rally at Goodrich Coffee (9450 Main Street) from 10-11am Saturday morning, and a fun social media contest throughout the day that will introduce you to a variety of Main Street merchants.
Small Business Saturday is something of a mile marker for the Discover Main Street team. When November 25th rolls around, it will mark the 8th year for the event nationally and our 4th time welcoming folks to Main Street in Clarence, NY to Shop, Dine and Discover.
When we launched Discover Main Street in October 2014, our very first event was a Small Business Saturday promotion. With some luck and a lot of hard work by local merchants, it was a success, and brought a lot of attention to Main Street Clarence.
The Main Street Clarence business district has made tremendous progress since then. We’ve seen restaurants and shops open and thrive. We have become more bike friendly. A street festival has sparked a new sense of community in Harris Hill. Best of all, the Town of Clarence has adopted the Vision Main Street plan to ensure these changes continue for our future.
Like all change, it began with each of us. When we decide to #shopsmall on Main Street, we continue to support these welcome changes – and others that have not even been thought of yet. Shopping locally returns more of each dollar you spend back into our community, where it helps create jobs, and helps small ideas turn into big ones.
