On November 30th from 7pm to 10pm, Murphy Browns will be hosting a Kickoff Party for Peyton’s Toy Drive & Fundraiser for Children’s Hospital. Patrons bringing in a new toy get a FREE flight glass of select beer, and can relax and enjoy live music with AJ “Apple Jack” Tetzlaff. Owners Drew and Renee Brown ask you to bring your friends, spread the word and help a sick child feel special for the holidays.

The story, which turned into a fundraiser to help other children, began with Peyton’s own illness. She was just 18 months old when she underwent major brain surgery. While Peyton was recovering in the ICU, with her parents by her side, the family met other children that were not as lucky. The family decided they wanted to do something to help. On a follow-up visit, they collected toys for the other children in the ICU. The effort has grown into Peyton’s Toy Drive, which is now in its 3rd year.

Peyton and her family are hoping to exceed their goal of 200 toys for the children in the Children’s Hospital ICU. While a toy cannot replace a parent or take away the pain, it may bring a child some comfort during a time when they need it most.

The drive gets underway with the Kickoff Party at Murphy Browns from 7pm to 10pm on November 30th. The drive continues until December 9th, and ends with a celebration at Murphy Brown’s from 5pm to 9pm. Peyton herself will be making a special appearance from 5pm-6pm, and Murphy’s will have Live Music with Christopher Joel, FREE Appetizers, Drink Specials, Chinese Auction, 50/50, Silent Auction and more.
