If you’re from Clarence, you were probably there. If you weren’t, you will want to be tonight as Bon Journey returns to the Big Yellow Barn at 9015 Main Street to close out the 14th annual Rock the Barn festival.
Headliners Face 2 Face delivered with two great performances in a tribute to Billy Joel and Elton John, and whether it was Scenes from an Italian Restaurant, Only the Good Die Young or Crocodile Rock it was clear that the crowd knew every song in the first few bars.
Of course, Rock the Barn is a great festival, but it’s also helping to fund Meals on Wheels services in Clarence and the surrounding communities of Akron and Newstead. Early numbers have organizers confident of a record year. With the support of sponsors, ticket sales, concessions and the Rock the Barn Beer tent, this two festival is bringing the Meal on Wheels Clarence-Newstead Task Force closer toward their million dollar goal and a permanent source of funding for a vital program that delivers over 25,000 meals a year to over 130 recipients on seven routes.
There’s still more Rock the Barn on tap for tonight. If you came on Friday, your festival wristband grants you admission for the 2nd day at no cost. If you didn’t, tickets are available at the gate and the 2nd day lineup is worth the price of admission, with Bon Journey (headliner), Your Enemies, All Or Nothin and S.A.M. on the Main Stage, and Hintz of Thunder and Noah Moses on the bonus stage.
