The Clarence Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for their 16th annual Taste of Clarence and & Cruise Night. The Taste will take place rain or shine on Monday August 5 from 3-9 pm at the Main Street Clarence Town Park.
Mark Medole, partner of the Emerling Insurance agency returns for his 2nd stint as the chairperson of the event. The event continues to grow in popularity and attendance, every year with last year being the highest attended event in the chamber’s history. Medole believes this year will be no different and is confident the event will draw its usual 4,000+ attendees.
Monday has been the day of choice for many years as to accommodate the local restaurants schedules as it is typically their slowest day of the week or some are even closed on that day. This year’s event will host 18 various restaurants and food trucks, with several new restaurants joining in for the first time.
The “Silver Spoon” award which is voted by the attendees for the best overall restaurant is up for grabs. Brennan’s the winner of the past three years will have its challenges cut out for them as they try for their 4th consecutive award. Brennan’s is not giving up without a fight, even using social media to show the spoon lounging in a hammock, playing beer pong and otherwise being a member of the Brennan’s family.
In a bid to counter Brennan’s recent dominance, Madole is now requiring attendees to visit the Chamber tent to obtain a voting ballot. While there, attendees may also obtain a nominating ballot for the upcoming 2020 Chamber awards.
In addition to the great food that will be available, there will be a beer garden, many local vendor booths, 400+ classic Autos, children’s activities, Huge Basket Raffle, 50/50 and the Clarence Rotary’s 2019 Porsche raffle drawing.
Live music entertainment sponsored by The Summit Federal Credit Union is also on hand, with the “Blues Brothers” returning to the stage. Elvis impersonator, Terry Buchwald will also grace the stage along with the sounds of our Whirlin Disc DJ.
The Taste of Clarence is made possible by sponsors Summit Federal Credit Union, Emerling & Floss Agencies, The Bflo Store, Evans Bank, Kreher’s Family Farms, Erie & Niagara Insurance Association, Financial Partners of Upstate New York, and Clarence Community Federal Credit Union.
The Chamber is still accepting last-minute vendors and additional Basket Raffle donations. For additional Information, please contact Ashley Wrisley or Amy Engler from the Clarence Chamber office at (716) 631-3888.
