If you want to improve your life and community, maybe you should try these “Main Street Clarence New Year’s Resolutions” for 2015.

Shop small and local. Instead of running off to the big shopping centers, commit to purchasing more of your items and gifts on Main Street. You will feel great about patronizing local businesses knowing that a higher percentage of your money spent stays within the community.  Plus, it’s one street – no highways, interchanges and gigantic parking lots here.

Attend local events. There are a bevy of opportunities to attend events along Main Street. From large-scale community events to intimate musical performances, you can find it all on Main Street. By attending events, not only will you be entertained but you will also be playing a supporting role in your community.

Dine Out on Main Street. This is not all that hard of a resolution, because there are so many delicious eateries up n’ down Main Street. Commit yourself to exploring new dining destinations or trying new dishes. Also, purchasing some of your food items at the Clarence Hollow Farmer’s Market, you’re getting very fresh food and make a direct impact on our local farming community.

Celebrate and promote Main Street businesses. Use your social media circles to “like,” “share” and promote your neighborly businesses. With the simple click of a computer mouse you can share with the world all the great businesses on Main Street.

Explore Main Street in many different ways. Have you been to the Historical Society? Walk the Clarence bike path? Stop in that restaurant or shop that you’ve driven past a thousand times? Exploring and trying new things is great for your mind, body and soul.
