Saturday Morning Ride Series Planned For May Bike Month

May is Bike Month, and there’s a super easy way to celebrate it – with FREE Saturday morning group rides. The May Kickoff Ride series is a perfect way to get back on the bike and stretch your legs after a long, cold winter. This is a slower group roll for all skill levels, though it’s worth noting that this is Clarence and it’s hard to avoid a hill from time to time.

The ride series begins this Saturday May 5th, at the Sawmill Road entrance to the Farmers’ Market. Meet at 9am and the ride starts at 9:30. Plans are to return by 11am.

Thanks to our friends at Clarence Toastmasters, who are helping to organize and staff the rides.

It’s important to note that while this is a group ride, we will be unescorted and following New York State traffic laws. If you haven’t taken your bike our of the garage yet this year (and we’re betting many of you haven’t – it’s kind of the point of these rides), this is a good time to stop at a bike shop for a quick tune up. And the day of the ride, remember to check your ABCs – Air, Brakes and Chain. The bike corral at the Farmers’ Market has air and most tools you may need for simple repairs.

The May Kickoff Rides are a great way to enjoy warming temperatures, get some exercise and explore Clarence with friendship and camaraderie. We hope you’ll join us!

  1. Will this be a “slow roll” format or “spirited ride”? Just trying to determine what bike to bring🤔.

    • This won’t be a spirited ride but there will be some grades and it will not be a supported ride, so bring something dependable and you will have a good ride.
